Hinds County's Non-Traditional Mental Health Service Provider

Our Program

NFusion Metro is a youth program that provides mental health resources to youth and their families in a stigma-free teen environment. NFusion Metro is supported by a SAMHSA funded federal grant. The program helps individuals between 0-21 through activities, groups, counseling, and peer support. Participants must have emotional, mental, or behavioral problems, or be involved with two or more child-serving agencies.

Youth will receive nontraditional mental health services in addition to a variety of supports, including help with life skills, tutoring, educational support, health services, substance use, employment skills, and support groups.

  • NFusion Metro therapists use trauma-informed evidenced-based practices such as

    • Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT). TFCBT provides one-on-one therapy that focuses on helping youth cope with the effects of traumatic experiences. Therapists are also trained to help with substance use disorders through an Intensive Outpatient Program.

    • EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to ease the distress associated with traumatic memories (Shapiro, 1989a, 1989b). Shapiro’s (2001) Adaptive Information Processing model posits that EMDR therapy facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences to bring these to an adaptive resolution.

  • Wraparound is a planning process that includes family members and individuals from different parts of the youth’s life. Facilitators help the group work toward coordinating and building a cohesive plan by understanding the family’s unique situation.

  • Peer Support aids in the youth’s recovery or transition by sharing similar experiences and giving encouragement, hope, and guidance.

  • Social activities such as youth and family nights, recreational games, and community events help build self-awareness, confidence, and trust.

  • Youth ages 0-21 (Hinds County, MS residency)

  • Individuals who have emotional, mental, or behavioral concerns, or who are involved in two or more child-serving agencies.

  • Individuals who are at risk of being displaced out of the home due to a mental health disorder.

Young Volunteers

NFusion Metro SOC provides an intensive level of care geared towards destigmatizing mental health services. Our services are youth-guided, community-based, and family driven. We provide non-traditional style services. NFusion youth and families are offered an array of services, such as individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, community engagement, trauma-informed services, support groups, volunteer opportunities, leadership training, parenting classes, suicide awareness training, and mental health awareness training. Every 6 months, we conduct a National Outcome Measure (NOMs) reassessment to monitor the progress of the youth and family while in the program.
